About the Inspector General

The Inspector General is a single contract position recommended by the Sheriff and the Chair of the Board of Supervisors with the concurrence of the the Sacramento County Deputy Sheriffs' Association (SCDSA) and Law Enforcement Managers Assocation (LEMA). The contract with the prior Inspector General, Kevin Gardner, concluded on March 31, 2026. This position is currently vacant.
